My name is Jennifer,
and I am seventeen years old. When I was seven my mother told me I was adopted at birth. The older I get the more and more
I have a desire to search for my biological mother. But since the law in Ohio does not allow anyone to search until the age
of eighteen, I have to wait.
My adoption was
a closed adoption, meaning my adoptive parents were not allowed to meet my biological mother. They only information
I know if that my mother was in her twenties when I she gave birth to me, and that my adoption records are open. So, once
I am eighteen I will be able to access my records.
I created this webpage for a class I am taking at school. My project was on adoption because adoption
is a part of my life. Initially, I was planning on searching for my biological mother for my project, but then later found
out the age to search is eighteen. So instead I did my paper on the emotional effects, legal aspects, and how to search so
I am prepared for when I am of age. This site is for adoptees just like me who have a desire to search or who are thinking
about it. This website includes stories and advice for adoptees. I hope this site is useful! Feel free to sign my
guestbook!
